Simmering/of texas heat
Simmering/of Texas Heat attempts to emulate the feeling of late summer in central Texas. I've spent my life living in Texas, southern California, and south Florida and traveled extensively all along the southern U.S. border. Based upon that experience I can attest that the Central Texas heat in August bears an unmatched measure of intensity! Encaustic painting uses hot beeswax and damar resin mixed with pigments. This is a highly textured painting that uses both hot and cold wax painting applications to build up the surface, creating an intense and highly saturated picture plane that promises to keep you warm all year long!
