A lot of fun watching this one grow. Unprocessed grain. Threw down all the greens I had.  Need to mix up more greens but also need to figure other hues. Thinking of Indian Red or Auburn laid among the Indigo.

Stoned Art 1

Stones to shape errant wood.  Wood glue and stone compression to unwrap the warp of Wood #1. Stones to prop the separated ribs of Wood #4. I'm pouring a properly fair amount of violet reds onto the wayward lower half Wood #3.  These are the same colours I want in the center of Wood #4 so I prop it on an angle to capture what drops off.
Picture
The stubborn center of Wood #1 still tried to bubble up therefore top down compression twice stoned. Nailed it, too, but not to batten it down.

Wood #1 has taken some good heat and gotten pretty washed out while still holding on to it's pigments (see: Weathering). The nails are trees congregating on a hot plain.  They will collect and gather deeper colour.
Picture
The bottom half of Wood #3 is still wayward as it threw the lot of it's new wax onto Wood #4. Good on the both of them.

This one is breaking down further.  I'll keep painting on it as it breaks apart.  Then I'll decide how it should be arranged.

I don't let these two get as hot as the others.  They live in the shade.  They'll still get hot enough to diffuse the colors but not so hot the paint runs.  Also, they'll be picking up foliage that the others will not.  This will give them a nice earthiness if all works well.  If not, they'll just be dirty and I'll have to move them to the sun to wash them.  If the stillness of recent weather holds they could capture a nice pattern of entropy.

I was drinking coffee at Flitch when I saw this sexy piece of wood from Hatch Workshop.  It was love at first sight/site.

All of the rain and weather have been extending this work's nuanced/faceted dimensions into the underwater.
